That sentence is on the front page, so this page has to be specific enough to hold it up. Below is what the app sends, what this website records, and every third party involved. It is written from what the code does, not from a template.
HushQuill is made by Intellifyr FZE LLC, Business Centre, Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. For anything on this page, or any request about your data, write to [email protected].
By default HushQuill runs its speech models locally. Your audio is captured, transcribed and turned into text on your machine, and it is never written to an audio file. We operate no server that receives your dictation, so there is nowhere for it to arrive even in principle.
Once the app and a speech model are installed, dictation works with the network switched off. That is the test worth running if you would rather verify this than believe it.
HushQuill can also send audio to a hosted transcription service instead of using a local model. This is off unless you turn it on, it requires you to paste in your own API key for that provider, and it is offered for the cases where a hosted model is more accurate than one that fits on a laptop.
If you switch it on, your recorded speech is uploaded to that provider under your own account and their terms. That is the trade you are making, and it is the only path in the app where audio leaves your machine. The local engines remain available at all times, and your key is stored in your local settings file, not with us.
HushQuill needs no account and no sign-in. It has no analytics inside the application, does not report which features you use, and does not send crash or usage data.
On launch the app requests a small version file from Cloudflare R2 storage. As with any request to any server, that reveals your IP address and the time to the host serving the file. It carries no transcript, no audio, and no identifier we assign to you. This is the one routine outbound request the app makes.
Speech models are not bundled with the installer, which is why the download is small. When you choose a model, the app fetches it from where that model is published: Whisper models come from Hugging Face, and the Parakeet model comes from the host that publishes it. Those are ordinary file downloads, so the host sees your IP address and which file you asked for. They happen when you add a model, not continuously, and nothing about you or your dictation is attached to them.
Turning rough dictation into a tidier sentence is done by a language model. Which model, and therefore where the text goes, is your choice:
Pro keeps your recent takes in a file on your own disk so you can find something you dictated earlier. It is never uploaded and never synced, and nothing is written at all on the free tier.
Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Your payment and billing details are collected and held by them under their own privacy policy. We receive the resulting order record, which includes your email address and the country used to calculate tax. We never see your card number.
Activating a licence sends the key and an identifier for that installation to Lemon Squeezy, so the licence can be validated and the three device limit enforced. No dictation content is part of that exchange. The confirmation is then stored locally on your machine.
hushquill.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not follow anyone across other sites. It reports aggregates such as page views and referrers.
Download buttons pass through a counter before sending you to the installer. Each download records the time, the country the request came from, and the referring site. It deliberately records no IP address, no browser user agent and no cookie, so a download cannot be traced back to a person. It exists because whether a link produced downloads is the one number this project needs.
Before downloads and checkout were live, this site had a form for people who wanted to be told when they were ready. If you used it, we hold your email address and nothing else: no name, no other field, and no third party mailing service. It is used once, to tell you the thing you asked about is available, and you can have it deleted at any time by writing to [email protected]. The form has since been removed from the site.
The site runs on Cloudflare Pages. As the provider handling the connection, Cloudflare processes standard request data including IP addresses in order to serve the page and to block attacks, governed by their own privacy policy.
This site sets no tracking cookies and shows no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. It also loads no fonts, scripts or images from any other company's servers.
Transcripts, history and settings live on your computer for as long as you keep them and disappear when you delete them. Download counter entries hold nothing identifying. Email addresses on the launch list are kept until the launch email is sent or you ask for removal. Order records at Lemon Squeezy are retained as long as tax and accounting rules require.
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. In practice that is an order record or a launch list email address, because the app itself sends us nothing. Write to [email protected] and we will act on it.
HushQuill is a tool for work and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything material is noted in the changelog as well, so a quiet edit is not possible.
